Empty Musings: And so it begins...

It had been billed as a 'different' sort of community. The eccentric who bought the land and sold the initial lots described Muse Ridge as a "possible utopian settlement" and a "welcome change from the oppressive military base" that lay at the other end of the highway that passed through his proposed neighborhood. He invited artists and craftsmen, deep thinkers and hard workers to join him, but when the new residents sold their belongings and moved to Muse Ridge, they found an empty stretch of desert with few buildings and fewer amenities. Their eccentric benefactor had disappeared, distracted away by some new folly. But the new residents were a determined sort of folk and set about turning their vacant lots into the 'different sort of community' they'd been promised.
